Birth can be unpredictable, but by working together we can ensure you are confident, prepared and empowered for your upcoming birth.
Together, we will go over your birthing options and develop a personalized birthing plan that makes your wishes known, furnishes education and determines whether or not you have the right provider and birthing location that honors your specific needs.

POSTPARTUM PLANNING SESSION ONLY

After you and your family make it home from what we’re hoping was a positive birthing experience comes the postpartum period also known as the 4th trimester.
Together, we will go over your options and develop a personalized postpartum plan that makes your wishes known when it comes to visitors, self care, nourishment and nutritional counseling, meal preparation, childcare, partner/caregiver roles and expectations, rest/sleep, parental leave, breast/chest/bottle feeding support and more that honors your specific needs.
FIRST DAY POSTPARTUM DOULA SERVICE ONLY

COMFORT MEASURES AND BREATHING TECHNIQUES SESSION ONLY

Comfort measures and breathing techniques are valuable tools to the birthing experience. They provide natural pain and stress relief that’s proven to be very effective. We will discuss and practice different comfort measures and breathing techniques to find what works best for you. This session will help prepare you and your birthing support team how to navigate labor pains.

Let us help nourish and nuture you and your family by preparing healthy well-balanced meals during the healing and postpartum period. We prepare meals filled with nutrient dense and healing foods centered around the Mediterranean diet as well as offer pescatarian and vegetarian options. Let us customize a package to suit you and the needs of your family.

PANTRY + FRIDGE KITCHEN MAKEOVER
Converting to a healthy lifestyle can sometimes be overwhelming, but we’re here to help get you started by turning your kitchen into a fit kitchen. Most people do not know what’s healthy and what’s not. We can help you transform your pantry and refrigerator by educating you via skype, telephone or in person on which items to keep, which items to give to your local food pantry, and which foods are healthy vs. processed by the reading of labels and hidden ingredients. This makeover can be a fun, educational and stress free process in learning how to eat healthier for you and for your family. Afterwards, if local, we’ll box up and drop off your unopened.

HEALTHY MEAL PREPPING CLASS
Want to learn the 4 P’s of planning, prepping, preparing and packaging simple, healthy, and well balanced meals for the week right in the heart of your kitchen but don’t know how? Learn how to save time, money and unhealthy calories? Our meal prepping class will consist of some of your favorite hearty and calorie laden recipes prepared with a healthy twist. Same great flavor… with fewer calories. We will teach you how to healthily prepare 5 days worth of meals and snacks. You pick the meals and we will take it from there. Each family will recieve meal prepping containers, a meal prepping calendar, shopping tips and a small gift. Learn together….cook together…get healthy together for generations to come.

THE HEALTHY BUDGETNISTA PERSONAL GROCERY SHOPPING
Roots and River Wellness offers personal grocery shopping services through our Healthy Budgetnista Service. Through our client assessment, suggested grocery list and your grocery replenishment list, we can take the time and hassle out of grocery shopping, help you learn how to eat healthy and affordable, and stop you from making bad decisions of ordering take-out or going through the drive-thru due your pantry and refrigerator being bare. We can go pick up your online order, place your online order for pick up and/or delivery or actually go shopping for you. Custom packages available. Time and gas saved! (For local area Memphis and it’s suburbs, Olive Branch and Southaven, Horn Lake, MS areas) Additional fees may occur for other areas.

MOMMY + ME/PARENTS + PEAS COOKING CLASS
Child obesity is growing rampant in the United States everyday due to poor eating habits and leading sedentary lifestyles. Parents will learn how to prepare healthy and nutritious lunches and dinners for their children, how to get children involved in the cooking process, and excited about trying new things which leads to them incorporating a healthy lifestyle once they reach of age to make their own eating decisions. What a great way to bond with your children. Age 4+ with a maximum of 3 children per household.

30 DAY HEALTHY FAMILY MEAL PLAN
Eating healthy can doesn’t mean food has to be tasteless or boring. We can customize a family meal plan for families and postpartum parents whom want to transition to a healthier lifestyle by creating healthy alternatives or changes to their current lifestyle and nutritional needs.
This includes people who want to lose weight, maintain their current weight, nourish the body for moms/people breast/chest feeding and postpartum.
Families will receive a 30 day meal plan where meals are balanced and measured, ingredients listed for each meal and a weekly grocery list.
